Welcome to your sixty second update! In the newsletter and Instagram we explain why, and when we are moving to My Child At School, and what impact it has for you, the upcoming parents evenings, and how you pay for meals. We are seeking a calm, confident and reliable person to join our cover supervisor team, and we look forward to International Day on the last day of this half term. Recordings of the Winter Concert are now available. Year 9 boys footballers are champions, under-13 girls footballers won in horrible weather, much hard work is going into rehearsals for the show and our students have been representing us at the Herts Library Event. Year 7 basketball beat Longdean, year 7 netball drew with Astley Cooper, Year 7 boys football had a bit of a nightmare as sometimes happens and Year 8 have been exchanging letters with friends in Germany. The last few tickets are available for the Addams Family, next Wednesday to Friday. Next week is blue week and your newsletter can be found in your inbox and on the website. We are very proud of the six Year 8 students: Charlie, Amy, Dumi, Amelia, Matilda and Tawheed - who represented us at The Hertfordshire Libraries Teen Book Event. The students met with a book buyer for Hertfordshire Libraries, submitting book requests, and their views will help influence the teen book choices for all 32 public libraries across the county. They were a real credit to the school, and they conducted themselves brilliantly. #TheHHEx #EsseQuamVideri #Responsibility #relationships

Students in year 8 German could not be more excited about receiving letters from their Partner school in Schorndorf near Stuttgart in Germany. This the first exchange of letters and we hope for more later this year.  They wrote in both German and English asking about where they live their school and giving details about free time activities. #TheHHex #Relationships #EsseQuamVideri

Welcome to your sixty second update! Tickets for our fantastic performance of The Addams Family are selling fast, so go to Parent Pay to get yours! School finishes for students at 1pm on Friday 13th February, to allow the school to move over to Bromcom and MCAS, and three of our students are running virtual marathon to fund raise for Camps International. The old technology, art and food rooms have been demolished, Year 7 football took an on penalties win at Adeyfield, under-15 girls football beat Ashlyns and Senior Basketball beat Sir John Lawes. Year 10 basketball played King Alfred and the House Bake Off saw Chalfont take the crown. You can find your newsletter in your inbox, and on the website. Next week is Gold Week. Moving to MCAS changes the way you pay for things. We will stop using ParentPay, but all the money you have on there will be safe. It will automatically move over to MCAS during half-term. But you won’t be able to top-up the balance between 1st February and the 23rd of February. So please top-up enough before the 1st February for the two weeks up until half-term, and the one after. IMPORTANT! We are changing our parent app! Over February half term we will move from Edulink to My Child At School (MCAS). It is simpler, more intuitive, and better for you as hard working and busy parents and carers. Please download the MCAS app from the Apple Store or Google Play now... ...and we will send you your startup and login details in due course. The only problem the changeover will cause is to the next few parents evenings. You will need to sign up for your appointments for these early, and take a screen shot or write down your bookings. Don't miss out! Rachel DeSouza, the children's commissioner has produced a social media and digital safety guide for parents and the PE team want to keep you warm with some pre-loved sports kit. Our students are headlining and running the tech for Boxfest next month in aid of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. There is a reminder of what we do if your child needs first aid during the school day, and what we need from you and your child. We are privileged to have has author Katherine Rundell visit, lego club is producing some fantastic feats and we say goodbye to the old technology block! Technology have been showing off some of their fantastic textiles and resistant materials outcomes, and our senior basketball have won against Parmiters.
