Welcome

I am absolutely delighted to welcome you to our website, as the Headteacher of The Hemel Hempstead School, a successful and popular school which has served this community for nearly ninety years.

This school has in that time continually nurtured young people who achieve enormous success and go on to the very best universities, apprenticeships, careers, and adventures.  This journey is possible because, working in partnership: as carers, parents, children and teachers, we strive for nothing short of excellence for all our students.

We help them to forge a future in which they are the leaders of society, young people who can ‘be, not just seem to be’ because they are formed on a foundation of our Values of Respect, Relationships, Responsibility, Reflection and Resilience.  This is what our motto Esse Quam Videri means to us and what we, as a school community, live by every day.

At The Hemel Hempstead School through inspiring teaching, our innovative ASPIRE Learning Traits and unyielding standards we help young people to realise the very best versions of themselves, fully prepared to be the leaders and champions of tomorrow.

It is an incredibly exciting time for this school, as our brand-new sports, science and music facilities are now open, and as we continue to expand our numbers, taking a seventh form in each new year and increasing places in the Sixth Form.

I know, as a parent, that nothing is more important to you than to know that your child is going to thrive in a rigorous and challenging, yet fun and caring environment where only the very best is ever good enough for them.  That is why my team of teachers and support staff, dedicate themselves, every day, to that very same goal.
