Parent Voluntary Fund

The Hemel Hempstead School Improvement Fund

The school has been having discussions with Hertfordshire and East of England Football Associations regarding the provision of a 3G pitch at the school. 3G stands for Third Generation, an artificial pitch that can be used all year round – marked out for football, but also suitable for other sports (click here for FA Guide)

Mr Heward, Head of PE, sets out overleaf some of the potential benefits for our students. The school would also be working with local football clubs that would make use of the facility in the evenings and at weekends.

The clubs (Hemel Aces, Hemel Comets and Hemel Town Youth) will join with the school to produce a development plan, which, if it meets with the requirements of the FA and the Football Foundation, will release a 50% grant towards the approximate total cost of £600,000. The school therefore has a huge amount to raise and we will be looking for support from students and parents in order to ensure this exciting development of sport takes place at this, rather than any of the other schools in the town.
