Taster Day
As you are aware, our Taster day will be held on Thursday 13th July. This is a really exciting opportunity for them to get to know some teachers, students and experience some lessons.
During this day, students will start by having a year group assembly with Mrs Graham and our Head Students. They will have a tour of the school, meet their form tutor and form group, learn about our school and complete some activities for us to start developing relationships, which are so important to us as one of our 5 R's.
They will have break time, lunch time and experience 3 different lessons with subject teachers. They will be shown around school by our transition ambassadors so they won't need to worry about getting lost.
Students are expected to arrive on site at 8.30am. When they arrive, they will be greeted by members of staff at the gate, and they will be directed towards our main school hall where they will line up in their form groups ready for their very first assembly! They will need to know what form group they are in in order to do this, so please share this with them before the day.
Students will need to come to Taster day dressed in their own clothes, something that will be suitable to do PE or dance in if they are timetabled on that subject and they must wear trainers.
Students will also need to bring their own packed lunch and water bottle. They will not have access to purchasing anything in the canteen on this day. If your child is in receipt of free school meals, please let us know.
Students will need their pencil case for their lessons.
The day will finish at 3.15pm and they will leave via our Anchor Lane gate. Please feel free to meet them just outside here.
We will remind you again of this information on our Parent information evening.
We are so looking forward to meeting them! If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
